One small step video
To my recollection the one small step video had the most votes. I'm thinking that would bring at the very least the most popular choice. I thought this would have been a fair moderated competition but obviously not. If there was a problem with the video the moderators should have been upfront. I can't find the video that myself and thousands of other voted on....VERY DISSAPOINTED IN THIS!!
Explanation as to why we have all wasted our time would be the least that can be provided by the organizers.

As someone who voted for the one small step video, I am very disappointed to see that it isnt a winner. We campaigned so hard in the PWS community to get people to vote on this video and we clearly had the most votes at the end of the voting period, yet the video didnt even win the most popular choice. The video with the second most votes took that honor. I call foul.

I agree..something seems very wrong with the results of this challenge. The One Small Steps video had a very significant lead over the video that was chosen as popular choice..so I'm very confused as to how this outcome came about. I sincerely hope there wasn't foul play involved and an acceptable explanation can be given.

I am seriously disappointed that a cause that fought hard to get recognition, PWS, is not listed here and it was CLEARLY the front-runner in the voting. The video isn't even on the site anymore. If there was an issue with the video it should have been addressed before the nation-wide vote.
Another sad display of "government" doing whatever they want while making it SEEM like you have a say in the matter. Disappointing. Shame on you for giving false hope to such a wonderful charity full of amazing people.

I'm beyond disappointed, shocked, and saddened that the contest organizers are not responding about the reason our video was apparently disqualified. For months, we have asked our friends, families, co-workers to spend their time coming to your site to support us. And then we waited & waited to find out if we won, only to have our video pulled without explanation at the last possible moment before announcement. We can only assume we were lead on with no intention of allowing us to win. The very least you could do is offer an explanation.

After voting ended I was so excited to see our lead in voting. I even had the local radio mentioning this video challenge to help raise awareness. So much for our hard work... It would at least be nice to understand why

What is going on??? How can the top voted for video "One Small Step" not even show up. Something is very wrong here. What a big disappointment on how this played out. We would like a explaination please.

Hello, thanks very much for your participation. We really appreciate it and are sorry you are upset. However, eligibility issues have to be dealt with directly between the submitter and administrator/sponsor, not those who voted.
I hope you understand.
wendy roberts • over 11 years ago
Still feel ripped off. You should have dealt with any issues before people could vote. Rubbish explanation
Ali Shenk • over 11 years ago
Hi Brandon,
We understand that you need to deal with the sponsor/administrator directly, but we all know that person and you have not communicated with them yet. So please don't pretend like you're going about this the correct way.
You clearly are not thankful for our participation because the video was dismissed without ANY notice or explanation. If you truly appreciate our participation, you would show RESPECT to all the people who voted and to the people who submitted the video and communicate appropriately. Very, very disappointing.

I'm very disappointed in your organization. If there were issues with eligibility, those should have been dealt with when the video was submitted and before the voting began. Not only did you waste people's valuable time, you robbed an amazing group's chance to re-submit and have valuable awareness raised for PWS. Shame on you......you've shown very poor organization and judgement!

If there was a problem with the video why was it permitted to be vote on?. There is no excuse for this to happen !!!! You do not check for eligibility after the event is ended, you do it before !!!!! This has only left a very bad feeling among the Prader Willi community, one that we do not need.

I do not understand how PWS lost the video vote. Please expaling to all who voted. We spent valuable time recruiting voters and voting daily. I am finished voting for anything related to you again.

Why would you wait until voting was either being done or over to say that our video has eligibility issues? Why did you accept it in the first place? Our group should have been told ahead of time so that we were given the opportunity to resubmit another video. You should really re consider the next time you hold another contest. I am very disappointed in how this turned out.

Thank you for sponsoring the Let's Move video challenge. It was fun to be able to engage in the voting process and see the great work that so many organizations around the country are doing to promote healthy lifestyles. I received the email announcing the results of the challenge and was surprised to see that the video submitted by the Foundation for Prader Willi Research/One Small Step was not confirmed as the popular choice winner, despite a significant lead in votes. I was also surprised that the video has been removed from the video gallery. Can you provide any information about this?
Like many families who, upon receiving an urgent medical diagnosis (whether diabetes, heart disease, food allergy, cancer, or a rare genetic disorder like Prader-Willi syndrome), are obligated to embrace a new healthy eating and exercise lifestyle, we've been given an opportunity to refocus our intentions to make daily choices to improve the quality and longevity of life for our children and ourselves. I was looking forward to our video serving as an example to other families facing troubling medical diagnosis to rally and do their part to manage disease symptoms through diet and exercise, and to inspire families with abundant health to make choices to maintain their good fortune.
Thank you very much in advance for your time in clarifying the contest results,
Megan Catalfamo

If the video did not fit the perameters of this contest, that should have been decided BEFORE the voting began. Surely there was a committee which reviewed each video submitted? Once the PWS video was accepted for the contest, eligibility was no longer in question. To pull the video now, after it clearly won the competition, is irresponsible and completely unprofessional.

It is really disturbing to me to know that me and thousands of other people took time to vote on what we thought was a ligit, hopeful and well ordered program today but today we find out that this is a bunch of crap! Not only was time taken to vote but to bring forward this video that ones made in effort to post on behalf of PWS and those that are affected by eating disorders. Not only did we not receive any notible mention but completely deleted, wow!
I sincerely regret taking time and others time to an unworthy cause! This may have had wonderful intentions but ran poorly! This reminds me well of politically ran organizations, however we will move forward in finding a cure for thousands that are affected by PWS and millions with eating disorders, just not by this poorly ran program!

I am the submitter of the One SMALL Step video and a representative of the Foundation for Prader-Willi Research. I have received no communications from the promoter of this contest or any explanation of why we were deemed ineligible, if that is in fact the case, despite my attempt to contact you.
We submitted this video on April 6th and it was reviewed prior to being allowed into the contest. From April 6th through May 11th we sent members of our community and our supporters to this site to vote EVERY day and never once was our eligibility questioned by the promoter. Only today did we receive any notification of the "official" winners and we have yet to be given any details as to why we did not win or why our video was removed from this site AFTER the official announcement. To say we are disappointed is a huge understatement.
It is my hopes the promoter will reach out to us and our community so we may understand the basis for this decision. I may be reached at (888) 322-5487.

As has been said above, One Small Step received the highest number of votes. Yet, unless I missed it, One Small Step was completely ignored. This says alot about "Faith & Communities," this "contest," and the White House. Unless Faith & Communities exoplains the reason why, I intend to drop any membership and affiliation. Was this just another "political trick" to get email addresses for campaigns, claim fictitious supporters and so forth? I am so tired of FAKES!

Brandon i'm a grandmother of a 2 years old with PRADER-WILLI SYNDROME everyday i got on here and reminded people to vote because i thought this was something good for all of us touched by PWS I am very disappointed to know it was all crap.I do think you will see the PWS community won't let this be forgotten. And i will pray for you and your group......................

Obviously, the promoters of "The Let's Move Campaign" did not want the One Small Step video to win. It was carefully screened before submission to meet the requirements for eligibility and was accepted into the voting. Since PWS is not that well known they probably never expected it to win so they accepted the video for their contest. When the government realized it had won the popular vote they had to find a reason to disqualify it. We need a full explanation! Does anyone have contacts with a news organization? Keep posting your comments - this is really outrageous.

Brandon "the moderator", please call Susan H with an explanation. She left her number here for you!
