Let's Move Ulster

In the attached video, viewers will witness clippings of classes and events orchestrated by the Center for Creative Education (C.C.E.), located in Kingston, New York.

Since its inception in 1992, CCE has engaged thousands of youth to stimulate their bodies and minds through art education, combined with health and fitness awareness.

The video showcases an event which took place in June, 2011.

CCE, in collaboration with the Ulster County Department of Health, schools as well as other community organizations, joined together to form “Let’s Move Ulster”.

In support of Michelle Obama’s initiative, this event was designed to bring mind, body, spirit and community together, encouraging a healthier way of living for the children and families of Ulster County. The attendance at this county-wide event surpassed the organization’s expectations by far.

Bryant “Drew” Andrews is the Managing Director for CCE as well “Artistic Wellness Director” for communities in and out of the Hudson Valley, NY area. The video features clippings of weekly youth and adult classes developed and instructed by Mr. Andrews and students of Ulster and Dutchess County which are held inside and outside of the CCE studios.

In the video, several members of Mr. Andrews’ classes as well as participants of the Let’s Move Ulster event, openly share their feelings of how being a part of these experiences have positively impacted their lives. As the viewers will notice, the event and class participants’ ages stem from young to adult. Bryant Andrews creates and conducts dance and fitness classes as well as community events that are designed for families to participate in as a unit.

It is obvious to see the motivation in the faces and hearts of all of the participants in this video. This clearly shows that obtaining health can be fun and good for the mind, body and soul of our communities.
